That’s why I’m offering my top 8 cleaning hacks for tired parents like you! Whether you’re fighting against a stubborn stain on a set of toddler pajamas or trying to free your sofa of juice, these tips will help you clean them right off!

9 Tried and True Tips for Cleaning Stains From Toddler Pajamas and Household Items

1. Use a mixture of dish soap and hydrogen peroxide for older stains

Do your children’s clothes and toddler pajamas have old stains that just won’t go away? Get rid of them once and for all by cleaning them away with a mixture of dish soap and hydrogen peroxide. Simply rub the stains with some dish soap and hydrogen peroxide before throwing your children’s clothes in the washer.

2. Mix together dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda together for sweat stains

Sweat stains can also be a pain to wash away. But with a rambunctious toddler on your hands, they are inevitable. If you’re having trouble cleaning them, try making this mixture:

  • One part baking soda
  • One part hydrogen peroxide
  • One part water

Using an old toothbrush, scrub this mixture into your children’s clothes stains. When you’re finished, let the mixture stay on the clothes for an hour before washing them.

3. For grease stains on toddler pajamas, just use dish soap

Children can be messy eaters. If your little one has dropped some pasta on their pajamas or mistook their shirt for a bib, this can leave you with the unpleasant task of washing the grease stains from their clothes. But don’t worry! All you need is some dish soap. Simply rub the soap into the grease stain. Let the clothing sit for a minute before washing it off. It’s that simple!

4. Stuck with grass stains from playing outside? Use hydrogen peroxide

To clean off grass stains, simply rinse them with warm water before pouring some hydrogen peroxide over them. Wait 30 minutes before gently rubbing the hydrogen peroxide into the stains. Once you’re finished, just throw the clothes into the washing machine!

5. Clean off pen or marker with hairspray or baking soda

Kids love showing off their creativity. That is something you should definitely encourage and nourish from a young age! But sometimes children get a little too into their art and they try to experiment on the walls. If you wake up to find a mini Picasso painting on your walls, don’t panic. Just grab a can of hairspray and apply it to the wall markings. Once you’re done, wipe the markings and hairspray away with a paper towel.

If the hairspray doesn’t work, you can also try baking soda. Mix together some baking soda and water to create a paste. Scrub the paste onto the marking before wiping it away with some warm, soapy water.

6. Use nail polish remover to clean off ink stains from countertops

Need to clean some ink or marker off your countertops? Wipe it away with some nail polish remover. This solution works best on marble, granite, or laminate countertops

Additional pro tip: if you find nail polish in your carpet, don’t reach for nail polish remover. Use shaving cream to remove the stain.

7. Clean up toys using vinegar and dish soap

Toys can get dirty pretty quickly. Whether you have an outdoor slide that requires a thorough cleansing or a stack of indoor toys that need a quick wipe down, you can use a mixture of vinegar and dish soap to get the job done. Once you finish scrubbing them down, you can rinse them off with water.

Pro tip: If you want to make sure they’re squeaky clean, throw them in the dishwasher.

8. Use a baby wipe for a quick clean-up job

If you have some extra baby wipes laying around, you can use them for a quick clean-up job. Baby wipes are pretty good at removing unexpected spills and messes.

9. Find clothes that are stain-resistant and easy to wash
